Multiple Sclerosis Association of America

The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) is a leading resource for the entire MS community, improving lives today through vital services and support. MSAA is a national, nonprofit organization founded in 1970. Our organization is dedicated to improving lives today through ongoing support and direct services to individuals with MS, their families and their care partners.

National Multiple Sclerosis Society (MS)

The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, known in the MS community as MS Focus, is a nonprofit organization focused on providing free services that address the critical needs of people with MS and their families, helping them maintain the best quality of life.

Muscular Dystrophy Association

MDA is leading the fight to free individuals — and the families who love them — from the harm of muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-debilitating diseases that take away physical strength, independence and life. National Center for Accessible Media

The Carl and Ruth Shapiro Family National Center for Accessible Media (NCAM) at Boston public broadcaster WGBH is a research and development facility dedicated to addressing barriers to media and emerging technologies for people with disabilities in their homes, schools, workplaces and communities.

National Coalition for Assistive and Rehab Technology

The National Coalition for Assistive and Rehab Technology (NCART) is a national organization of suppliers and manufacturers of Complex Rehab Technology (CRT) products and services used by individuals with significant disabilities and chronic medical conditions. NCART seeks to ensure these individuals have appropriate access to CRT products and supporting services.

National Easterseals Society

Easterseals provides exceptional services, education, outreach and advocacy so that people living with autism and other disabilities can live, learn, work and play in our communities. Easterseals has been helping individuals with disabilities and special needs, and their families, live better lives for more than 100 years.

National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke

National MS Society

National Organization on Disability

The National Organization on Disability (NOD) is a private, nonprofit organization that promotes the full participation and contributions of America’s 57 million people with disabilities in all aspects of life. Today, the National Organization on Disability focuses on increasing employment opportunities for the 80 percent of working-age Americans with disabilities who are not employed.

National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA)

The National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) is a nonprofit trade association dedicated to expanding opportunities for people with disabilities to safely drive or be transported in vehicles modified with mobility equipment to fit their specific needs. All members work together to improve transportation options for people with disabilities.

United Spinal Association

United Spinal Association is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of all people living with spinal cord injuries and disorders (SCI/D), including veterans, and providing support and information to loved ones, care providers and professionals. United Spinal Association believes no person should be excluded from opportunity on the basis of their disability. The goal is to provide people living with SCI/D programs and services that maximize their independence and enable them to remain active in their communities.

American Association For Homecare

Caregiver Action Network

Caregiver Action Network is the nation’s leading family caregiver organization working to improve the quality of life for the more than 90 million Americans who care for loved ones with chronic conditions, disabilities, disease or the frailties of old age. CAN serves a broad spectrum of family caregivers ranging from the parents of children with special needs, to the families and friends of wounded soldiers; from a young couple dealing with a diagnosis of MS, to adult children caring for parents with Alzheimer’s disease.

Exceptional Parent (EP) provides award-winning information, support, ideas, encouragement and outreach for parents and families of children with disabilities and the professionals who work with them.

Family Caregiver Alliance

Family Caregiver Alliance is the first community-based nonprofit organization in the country to address the needs of families and friends providing long-term care for loved ones at home. FCA, as a public voice for caregivers, shines light on the challenges caregivers face daily and champions their cause through education, services and advocacy.

National Stroke Association

The National Stroke Association provides stroke education and programs to stroke survivors, caregivers and the health care community. The National Stroke Association also believes that caregivers and the survivor’s circle of support are the core to their recovery.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration

NHTSA is the federal government agency with the authority to regulate the manufacture of automotive adaptive equipment and modified vehicles used by persons with disabilities.

New Mobility is a full color lifestyle magazine for wheelchair users that covers health, people, relationships, sex, parenting, work, art, recreation, travel, legal issues, products, cure research and much more. With award-winning journalism and graphic design, each month New Mobility brings you the insight and the tools to live life to the fullest.

Shriners of North America / Shriners Hospitals for Children

Shriners Hospitals for Children is a network of pediatric specialty hospitals, founded by the Shrine, where children under the age of 18 receive excellent medical care absolutely free of charge. There are 18 orthopedic Shriners Hospitals, three Shriners Hospitals dedicated to treating children with severe burns, and one Shriners Hospital that provides orthopedic, burn and spinal cord injury care. Shriners Hospitals are located throughout North America – 20 in the United States and one each in Mexico and Canada. These “Centers of Excellence” serve as major referral centers for children with complex orthopedic and burn problems.

The Center for an Accessible Society

This is a national organization designed to focus public attention on disability and independent living issues by disseminating information developed through NIDRR funded research to promote independent living.

United Cerebral Palsy (UCP)

United Cerebral Palsy advances the independence, productivity and full citizenship of people with disabilities through an affiliate network. UCP also educates, advocates and provides support services to ensure a life without limits for people with a spectrum of disabilities.

United Spinal Association

United Spinal Association is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of all people living with spinal cord injuries and disorders (SCI/D), including veterans, and providing support and information to loved ones, care providers and professionals.

VA Caregiver Support

Veteran Affairs was formed for those who have "borne the battle." VA has several support and service options designed with you in mind. The programs are available both in and out of your home to help you care for yourself and the veteran you love.

The ALS Association

Established in 1985, The ALS Association is the only national nonprofit organization fighting Lou Gehrig’s Disease on every front. By leading the way in global research, providing assistance for people with ALS through a nationwide network of chapters, coordinating multidisciplinary care through certified clinical care centers, and fostering government partnerships, The ALS Association builds hope and enhances quality of life while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure.

American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

AAPM&R serves its member physicians by advancing the specialty of physical medicine and rehabilitation, promoting excellence in physiatric practice and advocating on public policy issues related to persons with disabling conditions.

American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine

American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine is an organization of rehabilitation professionals dedicated to serving people with disabling conditions by supporting research that promotes health, independence, productivity and quality of life; and meets the needs of rehabilitation clinicians and people with disabilities.

American Health Care Association

As the nation’s largest association of long term and post-acute care providers, AHCA advocates for quality care and services for frail, elderly, and disabled Americans. ACHA members provide essential care to approximately one million individuals in over 13,400 not-for-profit and proprietary member facilities.

American Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association

The American Medical Rehabilitation Providers Association – AMRPA – is the nation’s only trade organization dedicated solely to the interests of Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospitals and Units (IRH/U), outpatient rehabilitation centers and other medical rehabilitation providers.

American Occupational Therapy Association

The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) is the national professional association established to represent the interests and concerns of occupational therapy practitioners and students of occupational therapy and to improve the quality of occupational therapy services.

Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation

The term Osteogenesis Imperfecta means “bone that is imperfectly made from the beginning of life.” OI is a genetic bone disorder characterized by fragile bones that break easily. A person is born with this disorder and is affected throughout his or her lifetime.

Spina Bifida Association

The Spina Bifida Association serves adults and children who live with the challenges of Spina Bifida. Since 1973, SBA has been the only national voluntary health agency solely dedicated to enhancing the lives of those with Spina Bifida and those whose lives are touched by this challenging birth defect.

Spinal Muscular Atrophy

Spinal Muscular Atrophy is a disease that robs people of physical strength by affecting the motor nerve cells in the spinal cord, taking away the ability to walk, eat or breathe. It is the number one genetic cause of death for infants.

ARCP

Disabled Veterans National Foundation

The Disabled Veterans National Foundation exists to provide critically needed support to disabled and at-risk veterans who leave the military wounded — physically or psychologically — after defending our safety and our freedom.

Government Credit

Service members and veterans may be eligible for a one-time payment of not more than $20,235.20, beginning 10-01-16, toward the purchase of an automobile or other conveyance if you have certain service-connected disabilities.

Hire Heroes USA

Hire Heroes USA has built a national reputation of excellence for helping veterans find jobs, currently at the rate of more than 100 veterans confirmed hired every week. Thanks to the tax-free contributions of generous donors and funders, these services are provided at no cost to any transitioning U.S. military member, veteran or spouse who registers for services.

National Disability Policy

NCD is an independent federal agency charged with advising the president, Congress and other federal agencies regarding policies, programs, practices and procedures that affect people with disabilities. NCD is comprised of a team of presidential and congressional appointees, an executive director appointed by the chair and a full-time professional staff.

Paralyzed Veterans of America

For 70 years, Paralyzed Veterans of America has been on a mission to change lives and build brighter futures for our seriously injured heroes — to empower these brave men and women with what they need to achieve the things they fought for: freedom and independence.

Social Security

Military service members can receive expedited processing of disability claims from Social Security. Benefits available through Social Security are different than those from the Department of Veterans Affairs and require a separate application.

USO

For over 75 years, the USO has been the nation’s leading organization to serve the men and women in the U.S. military, and their families, throughout their time in uniform. Wounded Warrior Project

The Wounded Warrior Project wants to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history.
